Workshops and Classes with Heather Gentleman

heather
Hag Atelier was founded by Heather Gentleman in 2003 in the Historic Distillery District. Heather Gentleman is a figurative painter, sculptor and a storyteller. The premise of her work is to communicate, which is achieved through the use of symbolism, literary reference and text. She earned an Honours BA in Fine Arts at the University of Guelph as well as studying at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and the University of London, England. Heather's work has won several national and international arts awards and has been featured in books, magazines, design annuals, news articles and on television. Her work is found in private and corporate collections in Canada, U.S., France and Great Britain. Heather has been teaching art at private and public schools as a visiting artist since 2001. She has recently moved to a larger location on the fourth floor of the Case Goods Building to focus on a more substantial workspace for her students.

Instruction is based on a semi private one on one basis to develop each student’s individual style and direction. Each student is supplied with his/her own pan and storage area as well as access to brushes, tools and heating implements. The studio is also equipped with a powerful exhaust unit as well as a separate station for heat gun and iron.
